These sessions painted a vivid picture of the versatility of OneStream's platform. We heard stories of how it was adapted to fit unique business needs, providing solutions that were both effective and efficient. These sessions left us with a renewed appreciation for the power of OneStream’s Unified Platform. They underscored the difference it's making in the world of corporate performance management, and left us excited about the possibilities that we can incorporate into our own work.
One of the most memorable moments of Splash 2024 was undoubtedly the keynote speech by Erik Weihenmayer, a renowned adventurer and motivational speaker. Erik isn't just any adventurer - he's the first blind person to summit Mount Everest, a feat that many sighted people would find daunting.
Erik took us on a journey through his remarkable life story, sharing his experiences with humor, humility, and a sense of adventure that left us all inspired. He spoke about the challenges he faced, not just in climbing Everest, but in his everyday life as a blind person. His speech was a powerful message of resilience, determination, and the power of breaking barriers. He spoke about the importance of not letting obstacles, no matter how insurmountable they may seem, stand in the way of achieving our goals.
The Great Gatsby themed Splash Night Out was the talk of the conference! The moment we stepped into the venue, we were transported back to the roaring 1920s. The attention to detail was incredible, from the jazz music that filled the air to the flapper
After a long and fulfilling day, our happy hour event at BrewDog was the perfect way to unwind. As we walked into the venue, we were greeted by a relaxed atmosphere and a great view over the Vegas Strip. The industrial-chic decor, coupled with the warm lighting, created a cozy and inviting space that was just right.
BrewDog's wide selection of craft beers was a definite crowd-pleaser, though what made the event truly special for us was getting to see our clients and connections at OneStream. It was great to see so many familiar faces from the conference, and send our thanks for spending the evening with us. It was a reminder of why we do what we do, and to keep up our great work within OneStream.
We’re biased, but the highlight of our time at Splash 2024 was the speaker session led by our solutions architect, Tom Darnall. The focus was on how Doyon, Limited, one of our clients, has been driving extensibility into Alaska, aptly referred to as the last frontier.
Doyon, Limited has been leveraging more than 50 extensible cubes, accounts, and UD dimensions. This approach provides a common framework for reporting across their operations. But what's really cool is that it also allows each of their 35+ entities the flexibility to work with their own unique structures. This balance between standardization and customization is a game-changer, ensuring efficiency while respecting the individual needs of each entity.
But our client didn't stop there. They took the standard Blueprint’s flow dimension and extended it to create a comprehensive cash flow. This facilitates reporting and analysis by location, providing a granular view of their financial operations.
And the icing on the cake? Doyon, Limited’s use of Extensible documents, cube view extenders, and XFBR rules. With these tools, they're able to produce board-quality, 200+ page report books in mere seconds. It's a testament to the power of extensibility and a great example of how our solutions can drive efficiency and quality in financial reporting.

One of the key trends that emerged from Splash 2024 was the growing interest in OneStream's Close Management capabilities. This feature is designed to streamline and automate the financial close process, making it faster, more efficient, and less prone to errors. It's a powerful tool that can transform the way businesses manage their financial close, and it was clear from the discussions at Splash that more and more companies are recognizing its potential.
Our expertise in this area, particularly in converting BlackLine to OneStream for close management, was a topic of much interest. We've successfully helped numerous clients make this transition, leveraging our deep understanding of both platforms to ensure a smooth and seamless conversion. The result is a more integrated and efficient close management process that saves time, reduces risk, and provides better visibility into financial performance. Another trend that caught our attention was the continued rollout of OneStream's Sensible Machine Learning. This is a feature that uses machine learning algorithms to analyze data and generate insights, but with a twist. Unlike traditional machine learning, which often requires specialized knowledge to use effectively, OneStream's Sensible Machine Learning is designed to be accessible and usable for finance professionals.
It provides users with the tools to build, train, and deploy machine learning models within the OneStream platform, without needing to write code or understand complex algorithms. This makes it possible for finance teams to leverage the power of machine learning in their day-to-day work, from forecasting and planning to reporting and analysis.
The interest in OneStream's Sensible Machine Learning at Splash 2024 reflects a broader trend in the industry towards more accessible and user-friendly AI tools. It's a trend that we're excited about, and one that we believe will play a key role in the future of corporate performance management.
